1.5 and 1.6

Average rates of change is the change in the quantity of the dependent variable divided by the corresponding independent variable over an intervals.

Graphically, the average rate of change over an interval is equivalent to the
slope of the secant line passing through two points.

Average rate of change= ChangeinDistancingUnit/ChangeinTime

AVG= Y axis values (dependent valuess) DIVIDED BY X axis values (independent values)

A Summary of  today's lesson in class...

LOOK WHAT I FOUND FOR YOU GUYS!!!
I KNOW YOU'VE BEEN SLEEPING IN CLASS!!
Thank me later if I've saved your life.

Functions can be categorized based on their graphical characteristics:
• domain and range
• intervals of increase and decrease
• x-intercepts and y-intercepts
• symmetry (even odd)
• continuity and discontinuity
• end behaviour

Stuff you should know!

• Given a set of graphical characteristics, the type of function that has these characteristics can be determined by eliminating those that do not have these
characteristics.
• Some characteristics are more helpful than others when determining the type
of function

Hello, dear nightmarish world of confusion...

SO...

This blog is an attempt to keep my sanity as I engage in a Jihad against myself, (the antagonists being laziness and procrastination) in order to get through these unpredictable 6 months. It will also... *coughs coughs* hopefully help you guys out as well... I'm gonna try my best to make functions exciting... or not. Well, it is exciting... or is it?

If you have any questions regarding any absurd, incomprehensible or demented postings, just ask in the comments section below... my motto is after all....
